Attorney Bio
Ms. Martin was born in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio; home of the Buckeyes! She is the youngest of three daughters and because she was born to German immigrants, she takes pride in being a “first generation” U.S. citizen.
After graduating from Ohio State University, Ms. Martin lived in San Francisco, then Houston and now Atlanta. She has called Alpharetta home since 1988.
When she is not working, she can be found jogging or taking in a cycle class at Alpharetta’s Lifetime Fitness health club.
Ms. Martin has been happily married since 1984 and is the proud mother of two sons named Zachary and Travis.
Work History
Ms. Martin’s first passion was Environmental Engineering. In 1980 she was recruited from Ohio State University by Pacific Gas and Electric Company. It was in San Francisco California that she launched her environmental engineering career.
After a move to Houston Texas in 1983, Ms. Martin worked as a Store Supervisor of company owned Exxon U.S.A. Car Care Centers. She had bottom line responsibility for a territory consisting of 100 employees and grossed 13 million dollars a year in revenues.
In 1988, her husband’s employer relocated the family to Atlanta where Ms. Martin worked as an Environmental Engineer with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency until 1998.
Since attending law school in 1999, Ms. Martin has represented the Georgia Department of Transportation in real estate acquisition and eminent domain matters. Currently she is Of-Counsel to the Law Office of Danny Coleman, PC where she handles bankruptcy, divorce, and landlord tenant matters. In addition, Ms. Martin mediates landlord tenant cases in Fulton County’s magistrate Court and she is a property management company’s corporate attorney in Columbus, Ohio.
Education
In 1980 Ms. Martin graduated summa cum laude from Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE). In 1983 Ms. Martin graduated with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley and she obtained her California professional engineer’s license (PE). In 1993 she obtained her Georgia PE. In 2001, Ms. Martin became a registered neutral (mediator) and in 2002 she graduated cum laude with her Juris Doctorate (JD). In 2003, Ms. Martin was admitted to the Georgia Bar and she became a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Since 2008 Ms. Martin is an Ohio corporate attorney registered with the Ohio Supreme Court.
